As I’ve mentioned before, I’m always fond of museums, I don’t know why, but if given a chance to go into a new place, I would search for museums first. The thing is, not everyone has the same passion as I am, and it’s kind of difficult to find someone who would want to go with me. Or well, I did find people who share the same passion, but it’s either they already went in the museum I was eyeing for, or they want to go with their “the ones”.
Anyway, whenever I got free time (lunch break), I always look for places I can go for free while in Singapore. Yes, you’ve read it right: FREE. And yes, I found the perfect place to go for free and it is a museum, the Singapore Art Museum.
Every Friday, from 6pm until it’s closing hours at 9pm, one can enjoy a complimentary entry. You can visit their website for more information: Singapore Art Museum Admission. That’s a good deal already, and the place is not really that crowded so you don’t have to worry about posing on different artworks when you get there.
After going to Books Actually at Tiong Bahru, me and my officemate headed out to Bras Basah station, which is the nearest MRT to Singapore Arts Museum. Here are some of my favorite shots at the museum:
Me sitting comfy at the democratic words, though not visible, of different personalities.
Artworks made by women prisoners.
Stickers on postcards.
My favorite pose at different calendars up until I forgot what year! HAHA
Endings of different novels.
Time of Others: a place where you will post your feedback about the museum and the artworks.
And tada! Singapore Art Museum at night.
Another fact: most of the artworks found here are actually made by the inmates. You can distinguish one when you found a yellow ribbon on the description of the artwork. Hehe.
Are you also a museum lover? Comment below the museums you’ve already visited, or would like to recommend me to visit soon!
